I love watching Freddie play... Obviously not an ABS-type swing, but he's a ton of fun to watch. I would recommend any of the SWWOG videos on YouTube with Freddie in them.

As far a varying distance. One way is the choke up on the grip, another is to make a shorter swing and a third is to just rotate at a slower tempo. You can still accelerate just with a slower motor. And, of course, you can do combinations of the above. It is a game of art, after all.

I've started to imagine at impact slinging the ball to the target and its working very well for the release and post impact acceleration.

For taking a bit off now I swing 3/4 and do that and it works out lovely and feels right for me. Always learning.

Thanks for the help lads.

Regardless of backswing length, try to feel you are reaching maximum speed at P4.. (where the shaft would be parallel to the ground post impact)

Practice swings.. or hitting balls. Feel it most in the core muscles or torso rotation s much as possible.
After you get the hang of it, you should experience a new "zip" on the ball flight.

This video was so helpful for me to get rid of my early acceleration.

It's a tough drill. Anything in particular?

I struggled with the left hand only stuff for ages.

hands in front of left thigh with club, drive pivot turn from ground up and the arms only go waist high towards target. Dont get the finish up high :(

is it a strength issue or technique??
