Scott Brown, ABS student?

Postby Knightwriter » Sun Jan 31, 2016 5:27 am

I was watching the PGA tour event at Torrey this morning (repeat of yesterday).

I was looking at Scott Brown swing and thinking it looks really good.

Then the commentators start calling him 'straight ball' because he's just hitting everything SO straight.

I took a look on youtube. Looks like textbook ABS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRZNQUGpb1Y

Looks superb to me! What do you think?

I like his swing & admire anyone who can lead a PGA event. He's close but not textbook IMHO.

Fair enough.

I'm only on module 1, so I don't know all the ins and outs yet.

What I liked from watching that video is how he keeps his hips and core moving through the strike. A lot of players are stalling, then just flinging the arms and hands through impact. Much harder to "time" the golf swing that way.

I would prefer to see less activity in the right arm through impact, and better use of forearm rotation through transition.
Quality golf swing. Lot's of good things going on.
