Hello All,

Thought you guys might want to see some of the work I'm doing on trackman during the inclement weather. I understand ball flight is king, but if you like the technicals--ENJOY!

Lag, I have a PDF to make this easier...but cannot upload it?

Thank You Ded2Journey, For sharing :ugeek:

I really enjoyed looking at all your Data. I find it very interesting. Do you have Trackman to get all that data or do you go to someplace that had it? I want to do something like this for a long time but can't afford it so I bought Voice Caddie 2 not to bad for cheap model :D ! any ways saw your swing on one of the pos. Looks very nice. I also wanted to ask you about those Footjoy hyperflex 2 golf shoes are they really comfortable? I looked them up online after I read one of your post. Do you live here in the states and if so where? if you don't mind me asking. Any ways keep up your progress. by the way you can really hit the poop out of the ball!!!!!

BT,

Thank you for the kind words...but I'm still young and full of piss and vinegar (my secret power  )

I rent time on an indoor trackman just south of Denver, D'Lance Golf. They are the oldest clubfitter in town, and have really grown up right. They are extremely friendly and do not bother me. We discuss Trevino and Hogan regularly--but they've seen my numbers and say that no one hits it this way anymore, but that is why this is called ABS. I just wish I could hit into the open so my longer club data was more accurate...10ft doesn't give the TM enough time to read the ball. So, lesson learned...find a place with 20+ feet for the most accurate readings.

It's $20/hr, which is very reasonable--since I've paid up to $50/hr. Once you get a repeating motion, it is fantastic for refining the finer points of your techniques/fundamentals. Be careful not to get too addicted to the numbers... There are people chasing PGA Tour numbers (formerly guilty of), instead of finding their own best data sets.

The hyperflex II is as close to metal spikes as I've found. There is absolutely NO SLIPPAGE. I was extremely impressed yesterday during my morning round...it was a bit wet, and these shoes held up well on downhill, side hill, sand, rough, etc. Plus, I didn't wear them in--walked one round and feet feel amazing! As an ABS student, I highly recommend these shoes...sorry if you've gotta replace your spikes a bunch though.

Ded,
When they tell you nobody hits it this way anymore in reference to your numbers, what exactly are they referring to?

It's a smash factor thing...I can't explain it, maybe Lag can. My average smash factor with forged irons is unusually high according to both tour trackman stats and their experience. Plus, my spin data is far too low for that smash and ball speed regardless of shaft or ball. I'm off by 1-2K RPM throughout the bag. It makes sense in the long irons because I was indoors and spin readings get messed up as you get past 5 iron--but not with the shorter clubs. Think of it this way, how can I get 2-3mph faster ball speeds, with 2-4mph less clubhead speed? Why isn't the ball spinning?

K2, you ever "sling" a golf ball?

I know that my clubface is just on the ball longer...and everyone here knows the geometry that makes this possible. However, in my mind it all has to do with accelerating past the ball...which they say is impossible to do. I call B.S.--I can do it every time, and I plan to nod my head about it all the way to the bank.

Anywho, got my Arias 6 iron today...TRUEZEROOFFSET! I'll post more numbers soon...

Let us know what you think of that 6 iron. They're certainly an interesting company.

Another reason you could see a higher than average smash factor and low spin is if you have less spin loft than normal (shallow AoA + deloft).

It has more to do with the stability of the clubface from experience. My toe hits and heel hits are superior too...Lag has the video that explains all this. It's the same reason I can keep the club square so long past impact too...that thing you say you like about my swing. Anyway, not saying I compress it any better than a tour pro. I am saying that I compress it differently, which leads to far superior mishits...the name of the game.

But, you're most likely right...can't help but deloft an offset modern club. GOTTA outrace that toe...so much for closing the door.

They are shafting the iron today...TM data coming tomorrow. We did fit to a shaft today using a mizuno low offset iron, not bad--but zero will be better...data below. Pay attention to only the first 3 shots...a guy started warming up for his fitting on the back end of my data.
