Newcastle Golf Club - AUS

Hi All,

I wanted to share a few photos of a great classic track from AUS, Newcastle GC.

I manage to get in a game on a perfect winters afternoon. Very much a course routed through a natural setting that provides great golf with nice rolling topography that provides a number different strategies to play each hole.

Happy to post some more photos is people are interested.

Lag did you ever play here in your travels in AUS? Twomasters, I am sure you have played here, I would like to hear both of your thoughts?

It does look familiar.
Very typical Australian looking layout.
Miss the fairway and you are toast.

That's how golf should be played. Much more interesting and challenging.
Fairways tighter requiring more accuracy and shot shaping over just making courses longer, wider and less interesting.

Is the course out in the east Sydney suburbs, or is it down in the Melbourne sand belt?

Newcastle is about an hour or so north of Sydney near the Hunter Valley.

Thanks Lag, it sure does punish a missed fairway. A very good challenge.

That's correct about 90 minute drive north of Sydney.
